“A Lawyer Writes” Lecture

Learn how a local attorney captured Louisiana culture in his latest book!

Local author and attorney Woody Falgoust will lecture about his pursuit of writing and his recently published novel, “Rise of the Cajun Mariner,” at 1 p.m. Monday, April 7, in the Plantation Suite of the Bollinger Memorial Student Union. The event is free and open to the public.

The lecture is part of Jubilee: A Festival of the Arts and Humanities.

Colonels Kick Butts Kick Ball Tournament

Support healthy lifestyles!

Teams of students, faculty and staff will compete in the Colonels Kick Butts Kick Ball Tournament beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, on the St. Thomas Aquinas field.

All are encouraged to attend the smoke-free event, sponsored by a grant from the Louisiana Coalition for Tobacco-Free Living and Nicholls Student Educators and Leaders.

Dr. David Dorrell, Nicholls assistant professor of geography, will talk about his studies in the field of medical ecology at the 2008 Herman J. Doucet Sr. Memorial Biomedical Lecture from 4:10 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, in 101 Gouaux Hall.

“Sickness in the News: The Relationship Between Disease and Disease Reporting” is part of Jubilee: A Festival of the Arts and Humanities.

The second forum of the spring semester will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, April 7, in the Cotillion Ballroom of the Bollinger Memorial Student Union. The forum’s topic is “Resolved, that random drug testing should be conducted in all public schools and universities.” Come out to listen to other students’ views and voice your own.
