Chamber Singers Concert

Posted on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Enjoy nostalgic musical remembrances of our country and culture!

Early American, jazz, gospel and patriotic songs dominate the lineup for the Nicholls Chamber Singers concert, themed “Americana in Music.” The program, beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in Talbot Theater, will also include folksong arrangements as sung by the Voices of Liberty at Walt Disney World; “Hooray for Hollywood,” a familiar tune from Academy Award ceremonies; and snippets of favorite television theme songs. The performance will conclude with an arrangement of “America the Beautiful” by John Ness Beck.

Student soloists include Houma natives Zach Dufrene, instrumental music education senior and baritone, and Michael Gros, vocal music education freshman and tenor.

The event is free and open to the public.
