FINE DINING, AUCTIONS FEATURED AT BITE OF THE ARTS
The 12th annual Bite of the Arts gala,
This yearâ€™s celebration is themed â€œDouble Downâ€ to highlight the John Folse Culinary Instituteâ€™s phenomenal growth.
The 2008 Bite of the Arts festivity will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by a lavish gourmet dinner. Featuring recipes from various chefs and restaurants that have mentored Nicholls culinary students, the dinner menu will include a dessert buffet as well.
In addition to fine dining, attendees can look forward to the annual live and silent auctions. Among the items up for bids: dinner for four at Galatoire’s, dinner for four at Antoine’s, dinner for four at Bayona, jazz brunch for four at The Court of Two Sisters, dinner for four at Brennan’s, dinner for four at Cafe Giovanni, a two-night stay at the Place d’Armes Hotel, a two-night stay at the Loews New Orleans Hotel with dinner for two at Cafe Adelaide, and a two-night stay at the Omni Royal Orleans with dinner for two at the Rib Room.
Also: dinner with vintage wines for 10 guests at the home of Nicholls President Stephen Hulbert, a period dinner with vintage wines for 14 at Oak Alley Plantation, dinner with vintage wines for 20 at the Duncan Kenner House and dinner with vintage wines for 24 at either Bittersweet Plantation or White Oak Plantation.
Corporate tables for 10 are offered for $5,000. Priority seating is $150 per guest and standard seating is $125 per guest. Wine will be served during the meal, and patrons seated at the corporate and priority levels will receive a commemorative event poster. A jazz combo of students from the Nicholls Division of Music will entertain attendees.
