Student auditions for the Nicholls Players production of A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams will be held in Talbot Theater from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 25, 26 and 27.

Get back in the swing of things, bayou style!

Nicholls State University will host “Welcome Back Day” from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27 in the quad on the Nicholls campus. The event is designed to help incoming students meet other new students, returning students, faculty and staff.

This year Nicholls State University is celebrating the return of Colonel Tillou, who will make his entrance at approximately 11:45. Come join the excitement and help welcome the new Nicholls mascot as he ushers in an exciting fall lineup of sports!

Colonel Pride Night, a night of dinner and dancing, will include a chance to take home $10,000 in cash prizes.

The Colonel Athletic Association and Nicholls State University Foundation host the 4th Annual Colonel Pride Night, Saturday, Aug. 15 from 6:30 p.m. to midnight at The Columns in Gray. The evening includes a gourmet buffet, live music, a silent and live auction and a full open bar. In addition, each ticket can take home one of 12 cash prizes. Top prize is $5,000. There are two $1,000 prizes, four $500 prizes and four $250 prizes.

All of the proceeds of Colonel Pride Night benefit student-athlete scholarships. Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased by calling the Nicholls Athletics Dept. at 985-448-4792 or the Colonel Athletic Association at 985-448-4804. Tickets may also be purchased at the door the night of the event.
