Jim Owen, author of The Try (the 2012-13 Common Book), to speak Nov. 13

What does it take to succeed, in school, in a career, in life? Is there a “blend of passion, attitude and effort that enables ordinary people to do extraordinary things”?

Jim Owen, author of The Try: Reclaiming the American Dream (the Nicholls Common Book for 2012-13), will address these questions on the Nicholls campus on Tuesday, November 13th, during two events:

• Question-and-Answer Session, 2-3 p.m., Peltier Auditorium

• Lecture, 7-8 p.m., Peltier Auditorium

Both events are free and open to the public and sponsored jointly by Nicholls State University and Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. Copies of The Try: Reclaiming the American Dream will be available for purchase at the evening event.
