Family and Consumer Sciences

Family and consumer sciences students are encouraged to become involved in departmental professional organizations and university organizations and activities. Participation helps you become involved in activities that contribute to your professional growth and development and offer the opportunity to network with peers and professionals.

The department is home to two organizations:

• Nicholls Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (NAFCS)

• Kappa Omicron Nu (KONu)

Students are also recommended to become involved with:

• American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences
• Louisiana Association of Family and Consumer Sciences
• National Association for the Education of Young Children
• Family, Career and Community Leaders of America
• Louisiana Council on Family Relations
