Even though Nicholls State University is located in a small community, Chad Lovell always felt the university was first class in education.
Lovell said John Lajaunie, professor of finance and economics, and Tom Bryant, former professor of marketing and management, prepared him for his career path, along with the numerous group projects in their classes. “My most memorable moment at Nicholls was winning the business seminar in Tom Bryant’s entrepreneurship class,” Lovell says.
Lovell graduated from Nicholls with bachelor degrees in finance and economics in 1996 and later returned to earn an MBA in 2005.
Lovell worked as the district sales manager for Kay Bee Toys in Houma for nine years, the branch manager of Wells Fargo Financial for four years and has been vice president of commercial lending at Chase Bank for six years in Dallas.
Lovell currently owns two successful small businesses, Kid Innovations Space Walks and Kid Innovations Party Facility. He was also recently honored as the local Rotarian of the Year.
“My advice to students is don’t quit college,” Lovell says. “The end is closer than you think.”
