Finance students realize that they’ll probably handle more money on the job than they’ll ever make in a lifetime. For Craig Coppola, that amount is now in the billions.
In his 20 years as a founding principal and commercial broker at Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services in Arizona, Coppola has completed more than 2,500 transactions totaling a value in excess of $2.5 billion.
After graduating from Nicholls State University in 1984, Coppola earned his master’s in Business Administration from Arizona State University. He now specializes in office brokerage at Lee & Associates, the largest regional commercial real estate services provider in the United States. Coppola is one of fewer than 30 people worldwide to earn the top three designations in his industry, including Commercial Council Investment Member, Counselor of Real Estate and Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.
While at Nicholls, Coppola most enjoyed playing baseball. Coppola said he is appreciative for the personal attention he got from his professors and advises future students to strive to be different.
“Live outside the box, and don’t listen to anyone who tells you it can’t be done,” Coppola says. “You are in charge, and yes, you can achieve anything you put your mind to. Dare to be the leader.”
