Julie Maryland, MAPC, Case Manager, completed her undergraduate service learning hours with the Family Service Center as a parent coach, tutor and group leader at Le Cirque. She enjoyed her work with the center so much she decided to complete an internship at the center. As an intern and post-intern, Ms. Maryland worked in various capacities: parenting facilitator and co-facilitator, recreational respite staff, adolescent’s life skills coach at Le Cirque and case management support staff. In 2008, she was hired full-time as a Case Manager.
Her educational career began with a major in Education with a concentration in mathematics; however, upon enrollment in a Family & Consumer Sciences course she discovered the enjoyment of working with individuals in need and changed her major. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Family & Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child, Family, Social Services and a minor in Addictive Behaviors from Nicholls State University, where she is also currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling.
