A Bachelor of General Studies is a degree program providing individualized academic plans for a widely diverse population of students. Its primary goals are to provide a sound foundation of common knowledge within the liberal arts tradition, to ensure breadth of studies within the major disciplines of the University, and to permit thematic grouping of courses.
The program’s primary mission is to develop broadly educated graduates who possess both the basic skills and common knowledge gained from the University’s general education requirements, as well as more specialized studies with the successful completion of upper-division work.
