Raised among corn fields, Priscilla Atkins has gravitated to large bodies of water. After college in Massachusetts, she lived first in Los Angeles, then in Hawaii. Her poems have appeared in Shenandoah, Barrow Street (forthcoming), Tar River Poetry and other journals. She teaches women’s and gender studies and a first-year seminar on comedy and diversity at Hope College, in Holland, Michigan (near the lake of that name).

Shannon Atkinson is a Louisiana based photographer who focuses primarily on concert and street photography. He has photographed live promotional images for artists including Plain White T’s, Percy Sledge, Louis Prima Jr., and Marco Palos in addition to other international acts. His work has been published in regional magazines and websites as well as Yahoo Sports. Although he continues to develop a diverse catalog, his true passion is street photography, “I have always gravitated to Environmental Portraiture. It is not uncommon for me to shoot other genres, but the streets are where I feel most at home with a camera in my hands.” Shannon has photographed throughout the United States as well as Central America. Shannon is currently working on a photographic series documenting the decline of Louisiana’s indigenous population and loss of culture. Aileen Bassis is a visual artist working in book arts, printmaking, photography and installation who recently discovered a new identity as a poet. You can view her artwork at www.aileenbassis.com. Joe Baumann possesses a Ph.D. in English from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he currently serves as the editor-in-chief of Rougarou: an Online Literary Journal. He is the author of Ivory Children: Flash Fictions, and his work has appeared in Tulane Review, Willow Review, Hawai’i Review, and many others, and is forthcoming in Lalitamba and Lindenwood Review. He will be joining the faculty at St. Charles Community College in St. Charles, Missouri, as an assistant professor this fall.

Flower Conroy is the author of two chapbooks, “Escape to Nowhere,” and the forthcoming “Controlled Burn.” She earned her MFA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her poetry has appeared in American Literary Review, Poydras Review, Menacing Hedge, and other journals. She currently lives in Key West.

Chrys Darkwater received his MFA from the Creative Writing Workshop at the University of New Orleans. After winning second place in the NYC Midnight Flash Fiction Contest and being short-listed for the Faulkner-Wisdom Novel-in-Progress, he continues to divide his time between tending bar and trying to get words on the page.

William Doreski’s work has appeared in various e and print journals and in several collections, most recently The Suburbs of Atlantis (AA Press, 2013).

Alejandro Escudé is the winner of the 2012 Sacramento Poetry Center Award. The winning manuscript, My Earthbound Eye, was published in September 2013. He received a master’s degree in creative writing from U.C. Davis and teaches high school English in Santa Monica, California. He is also a recent Pushcart Prize nominee and among other journals, his poems have appeared in Poet Lore, Rattle, Phoebe, California Quarterly, Main Street Rag, as well as in an anthology entitled How to Be This Man, published by Swan Scythe Press. Kathleen Hellen is the author of the poetry collection Umberto’s Night (2012), winner of the Jean Feldman Poetry Prize from Washington Writers’ Publishing House, and The Girl Who Loved Mothra (2010), a chapbook. Her poems are widely published and have appeared in American Letters & Commentary; Barrow Street; Cimarron Review; Evergreen; New Letters; Nimrod; Poetry Northwest; Prairie Schooner; Rattapallax; Sycamore Review; Witness; among others. Awards include poetry prizes from the H.O.W. Journal and Washington Square Review as well as The James Still Award and two Pushcart nominations in 2013. William Miller is a widely-published poet and children’s author. Over two-hundred of his poems have been published by such journals as The Southern Review, Prairie Schooner and Shenandoah. He lives and writes in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Simon Perchik is a retired attorney whose poems have appeared in Partisan Rview, The Nation, The New Yorker and elsewhere.

Donney Rose, a Baton Rouge native and active member of the city’s poetry scene, has been performing spoken word for fifteen years. He has been a member of eight Baton Rouge national slam teams and was also a member of Baton Rouge’s 2003 Southern Fried Regional’s championship team. In 2012, he became Eclectic Truth (Baton Rouge) Poetry Slam’s Individual Grand Slam Champion and Baton Rouge’s representative for the 2012 Individual World Poetry Slam. He works as a teaching artist with WordPlay Writing Project and is the program director for an arts-based non-profit, Forward Arts Inc. He has recorded three spoken word CDs and authored one chapbook. His work is the product of what happens when Black male southern upbringing finds out that a larger world exists outside of societal constraints placed on his demographic. M. A. Schaffner has work recently published or forthcoming in The Hollins Critic, Magma, Tulane Review, Gargoyle, and The Delinquent. Other writings include the poetry collection The Good Opinion of Squirrels, and the novel War Boys. Schaffner spends most days in Arlington, Virginia or the 19th century.

Carrie Spell’s work has appeared in over twenty magazines and journals, including McSweeneys, Black Warrior Review, The Encyclopedia of Alabama, Southern Women’s Review, Beloit Fiction Journal, Gulf Stream, and Nightsun. As an editor, she has worked with Southern Humanities Review, Mississippi Review, Mississippi Review Web, Pindeldyboz, and Opium Magazine. She teaches in the Department of English at Auburn University.

Sarah Weitzman has had close to three hundred poems published over the years in numerous journals such as Rattle, The Mid-American Review, The Windless Orchard, The North American Review, Slant, The Mid-American Review, Poet Lore, Potomac Review, etc. She received a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts ages ago. Her latest book, a children‘s novel titled Herman and the Ice Witch, was published by Main Street Rag in 2011.
