Mission and Goals

MISSION STATEMENT

University Health Services aims to advance the health of students by providing a wide spectrum of services, within a restricted budget. UHS is committed to integrating primary prevention with clinical health services and through referral, mental health services, and nutritional counseling. We will strive to become the principle advocate for a healthy campus community.

Expected Student Results

  • To provide a responsive medicine program so that health problems, illnesses and injury may be assessed and treated or access to treatment is provided.
  • Students will utilize access to acute health services during each semester.
  • To provide programs and information which make it possible for students to improve their own level of personal health and well-being.
  • Students will participate in programs and activities planned and implemented during each semester.
  • To be a part of the many resources available on campus for wellness activities.
  • Students will join wellness and informational activities planned and implemented during each semester.
  • To provide programs for the prevention of illness and injury.
  • Students will partake in prevention informational activities planned and implemented each semester

UHS Student Learning Outcomes:

I.

Students will demonstrate ability to independently schedule their own health care appointment.

II.

Students will be able to independently list and explain their reason for the visit and symptoms directly to the health care provider.
