HOMECOMING 2023

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2023

The Nicholls Homecoming Court will consist of 14 students (7 candidates for queen, 7 candidates for king) who serve as role models for the entire university community. Students selected to the court must exhibit qualities such as leadership, good character, a respect for diversity, loyalty to Nicholls, true Colonel Pride and effective communication skills. The two students elected as 2023 Homecoming Royalty are expected to be positive representatives of Nicholls State University. The process of identifying the 14 court members will be overseen and implemented through the office of the Dean of Students.

The Homecoming Court will be announced on Thursday, September 14, 2023.

The students will vote for one King and one Queen. Voting will take place online from 8:00AM on September 26, 2023 until noon on September 28, 2023.

The Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at halftime during the Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

 

Week Event Registration Information

If a campus department would like to host an event and have it listed as a homecoming week event, all appropriate event request forms must  be submitted to the Reservations Office which is located in the Student Union near the Post Office.  Student organizations should use the event registration form in Presence.  Homecoming Week is organized by the Homecoming Committee which is facilitated by Alumni Affairs.

As a reminder, there will continue to be a clear bag policy in effect. Bags that are permitted include:

  • Bags that are clear plastic and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″. This could include: Small totes, small backpacks, fanny packs
  • One-gallon, clear, resealable plastic storage bags
  • Small clutch bags or purses do not have to be clear but cannot exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″
  • Diaper bags, camera or binocular cases, seat cushions, seatbacks

Each person is allowed one large clear bag and one small clutch.
 
The following bags that are not clear and do not meet size requirements are prohibited. Examples include:

– Purses, backpacks, fanny packs, reusable grocery totes, printed pattern plastic bags, cinch bags, duffle bags, large totes
*Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at designated areas. There is no check-in location for prohibited bags.

 
NONPERMISSIBLE ITEMS
It is the responsibility of the host institution to enforce NCAA policies in this area. The following items are not permitted inside Guidry Stadium for this FCS playoff game:
 
– Artificial noisemakers
– Promotional items with commercial slogans or identification
– Umbrellas
– Signs, flags, or banners
*With respect to the latter, items that can be held by one individual that reflect good sportsmanship and do not block the view of other ticket patrons may be permitted.
