The following is a list of the 2011 Homecoming Parade rules. All organizations participating in the parade are expected to abide by these rules and to conduct themselves in a positive manner. You will be representing your organization and the entire Nicholls State community.
2011 Homecoming Parade
10:30 a.m. / Saturday, October 22, 2011
Notification of Participation
will be participating in the 2011 Nicholls State University Homecoming Parade scheduled for Saturday, october 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.
We will enter a Float / Truck / Marching Group (circle one).
The organization’s participants acknowledge and agree that:
* All participants will abide by the Homecoming Parade Guidelines, Nicholls State University Code of Conduct. In addition, while at the same time uphold the Nicholls Creed.
* THIS FORM MUST BE RETURNED TO THE STUDENT LIFE OFFICE NOT LATER THAN noon on SEPTEMBER 23, 2011.
* The organization’s representative must attend the mandatory parade meeting scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 in the Lafitte Room
* All participants must report to the parade lineup area not later than (9:30 a.m. on Saturday October 22, 2011. (PARADE STARTING PLACE: Peltier Park at Cherokee Ave).
*SMOKING IS PROHIBITED.
* NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED ON ANY FLOAT OR VEHICLES DURING THE PARADE. ALCOHOL IS ALSO NO ALLOWED IN THE CAB OF VEHICLES. IT’S THE LAW! No glass containers allowed on the float. Glass containers, alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited
*NO FLOATS WILL BE ALLOWED TO MARKET A PRODUCT, SERVICE FOR PROFIT BUISNESS OR DISPLAY ANY POLITICAL SIGNS!
* All parade throws are limited to candy, gum, beads and Nicholls State paraphernalia.
* All participants must remain on float or in vehicle throughout the entire parade route. No one will be allowed to jump on or off the float during the parade.
* All music and/or microphone or other volume enhanced comments must be radio edited and ready.
* Any conduct deemed inappropriate will result in the immediate removal of the entry (Float/Truck/Walking Group/Etc.). In addition appropriate discipline/criminal actions will be taken.
* The University reserves the right to refuse, deny, or remove from participation any participant and/or group whose conduct, dress, and/or float or vehicle design violates the guidelines or the spirit of Homecoming Week.
*The parade is an event designed to celebrate Nicholls State University. Please do not disturb this atmosphere. You may be removed from the parade at line-up or in route if any of the above guidelines are violated and your organizaton may be subjected to disciplinary action.
