Calecas Hall

Calecas Hall, once a favorite among male Honors students and student athletes, will serve as an overflow housing facility for male and female students.

In the university’s future housing plan, Calecas Hall will be extensively renovated for overflow housing and for use by the university police department. The current police building will be demolished and replaced with a convenience store and fast-food outlet.

Students listing Calecas as a residence hall choice on their application will be given priority assignment should this facility house students for fall 2008 and spring 2009.

A Calecas suite consists of two double rooms which share a bathroom. Its spacious lobby is complete with ping pong and pool tables, and its courtyard contains a barbecue pit area. Laundry facilities and a community kitchen are also available.

Each room:

  • measures 21 feet long by 13 feet wide,
  • contains two full size beds,
  • contains a desk area,
  • shares a bathroom with the adjoining room and
  • is occupied by two male residents, unless the resident has paid for a private room.
