Accounting, Assistant/Associate Professor

POSITION:

Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting, tenure-track position

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The faculty member will be responsible for teaching, research, and service to the University, College and Department. The normal teaching load will be 18 hours per calendar year. Candidates from all accounting disciplines may apply.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Accounting from an AACSB accredited school
  • ABDs will be considered; but must provide strong evidence that the doctoral degree requirements will be completed by May 2010.
  • Commitment to effective teaching
  • A strong record of scholarly publication and teaching excellence is required for an appointment at the Associate Professor rank.
  • Professional accounting certifications/licenses
  • Professional experience in accounting is desirable
  • Involvement in professional organizations

RANK AND SALARY:

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

THE DEPARTMENT:

There are currently 15 fulltime faculty and approximately 325 students in the department. The department offers undergraduate degrees in accounting and computer information systems. The accounting program has separate AACSB International accounting accreditation.
