Assistant Dean of Student Life
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Dean of Student Life, the Assistant Dean of Student Life will provide strategic leadership for key student involvement programs: Greek Life, Leadership Development, Awards and Recognition, and Community Service. The Assistant Dean will also provide administrative support for the parent relations program, student government, and the student organizations program. The Assistant Dean must be attuned to how issues of difference, power, and privilege manifest in higher education and professionally prepared to address these issues in an educationally meaningful way. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, strong oral and written communication, an orientation towards teamwork and collaboration, personal integrity, and a professional public presence.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline. A master’s degree in an appropriate discipline or a strong combination of advanced education and relevant experience in college student affairs is highly preferred. 5-7 years of experience working with college students and substantial experience advising Greek organizations is required. Candidates must demonstrate a complex understanding of student development theory application and a detailed understanding of membership intake and recruitment programs for NPHC, NPC, and IFC. The successful candidate will have an understanding of national trends and best practices for student involvement and demonstrate skill in planning and assessment of learning outcomes.
SALARY
Commensurate with experience.
