Director of Financial Aid

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for providing administrative leadership for the university’s financial aid program including, but not limited to management of the financial aid office, the delivery of student aid funds to eligible students, and the overall operation of administering student aid programs in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. As a key player in the enrollment management division, the director works collaboratively with recruitment and retention initiatives toward achieving targeted enrollment goals.

The successful candidate will direct and evaluate student aid policies to determine appropriate allocation of funds to specific categories of students. Coordinate federal, state and College programs to meet reporting responsibilities; act as a liaison with federal, state and private agencies regarding student aid. Supervise the scholarship and student employment programs; develop and evaluate recommendations for related policies and procedures. Develop and maintain effective information dissemination and public relations on student aid matters.

The Director of Financial Aid will also operate the Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) and EdConnect software distributed by the Department of Education.  Import and export all files required by the Department of Education such as Institutional Information Records (ISIRs), ISIR corrections, Pell files, NSLDS files, and Perkins files. Coordinate all financial aid tables in the Student Information System (SIS).  Maintain necessary financial aid table in SIS to ensure the running of the Financial Aid Module of SIS. Act as a team leader in the implementation of the Banner Student System.

Execute any other tasks as may be assigned by the Director of Enrollment Services or those deemed necessary by the University.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred. 5 to 7 years financial aid experience and previous experience supervising professional or support staff preferred. Well-developed software skills including MSOffice. Knowledge of Banner software is a plus. Strong comprehensive knowledge of Title IV regulations, need analysis, and LOSFA financial aid regulations. Superior interpersonal, oral, written and presentation skills. Detail-oriented and analytical. Enrollment management experience preferred. Highly organized, detailed, and customer service-oriented person preferred.
