The purpose of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee is to ensure humane treatment of animals used in experimentation, to determine if the researcher considered alternative ways for conducting research without the use of animals, and to support research which benefits both humans and animals through compassionate and health-promoting care of experimental animals.
