“The Glass Menagerie”
Thursday, March 13 - Sunday, March 16
Talbot Theater
“The Glass Menagerie” is a classic story about a dysfunctional family in crisis. Tom Wingfield, a young aspiring poet, carries the responsibilities of supporting his mother and sister with wages from his job in a shoe factory. Amanda, the controlling mother, is desperately seeking a suitor for her daughter, Laura, who lives in her imaginary world of music and glass figurines. When Tom brings a friend home for dinner, expectations arise for Laura’s future, and the fateful evening reveals many unexpected twists and turns.
A Nicholls Players production, “The Glass Menagerie,” by Tennessee Williams is under the direction of Dr. Stanley Coleman, Nicholls assistant professor of speech and theater. Cast members Laura Templet, Joey Pierce, Kirk Savoie and Dacia Persilver are all Nicholls students.
Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, with a post-performance reception sponsored by Nicholls Student Programming Association on opening night.
