Alma de Tango Quartet Performance

Talbot Hall Portico
Learn the steamy moves of tango dancers from Maria and Enrigque La Motta during a live tango demonstration. Practice your moves during a performance by the Alma de Tango Quartet as they deliver the authentic sounds of Argentinean tango music.

Enjoy the rhythms of Latin American music during a concert featuring guest artists Martin Merker (cello) and Ana Adamik (piano). Dine on the flavors of Argentinean cuisine prepared by Chef Maria Lertora at a reception immediately following the concert.
Nicholls Percussion Ensemble and Blue Bayou Jazz Band Performance

The festival continues with an all-Latin American program performed by outstanding Nicholls music students; the Nicholls Percussion Ensemble, directed by Eric Gueniot, Nicholls instructor of music and assistant director of bands; and the Blue Bayou Jazz Band, directed by Cristina Mendoza, Nicholls instructor of music.

Join guest musicians at an open rehearsal as they talk with the audience and discuss the music that will be presented during their 7:30 p.m. evening concert.

Talbot Theater
Delight in the sounds of tango music at a concert featuring the music of Astor Piazzola. The evening is presented by the Merker-Admik duo and features performances by James Alexander (violin), Danilo Mezzadri (flute) and Nicholas Ciraldo (guitar).
