Courses
The department offers courses in English literature, rhetoric and composition, technical and professional writing, cultural studies, creative writing, film, and linguistics. In addition, the department offers courses in French and Spanish. The Academic Catalog provides complete descriptions of these courses.

Degrees
The department offers the major in English:

• Bachelor of Arts in English, with concentrations available in:
  • Creative writing
  • Literary studies
  • Rhetoric and Writing

Minors are available in:

• Spanish
• Creative Writing
• Film Studies (minor available Fall 2013; courses currently available)

Students can also earn a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with a concentration in English or French Education through the Department of Teacher Education.
