Individual Awards

Freshman Recognition Impact Award
This award will be awarded to 4 freshman students who have made a positive impact on the Nicholls State University campus community overall or in a particular area of campus life. Candidates are nominated by faculty, staff, students, or campus organizations. When nominating an individual please be specific as to why the individual qualifies for the award. Information from your nomination may be read at the presentation of the award.  Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.0.  Nominate a student for the Impact Award!
Sophomore Recognition A+ Award (Attitude, Academics, Activities)
This award will be given to 2 sophomores for excellence in Attitude, Academics and Activities. Upon completion of the sophomore year, these students are in the heart of their college experience. By demonstrating excellence in these three areas, they reflect potential and growth for the future. Candidates are nominated by faculty, staff, students, and campus organizations. When nominating an individual please be specific as to why the individual qualifies for the award. Information from your nomination may be read at the presentation of the award. Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.  Nominate a student for the A+ Award!
Sophomore Recognition The Nicholls Nine
This award recognizes 9 sophomore student leaders that represent the ideal Nicholls student. These individuals embody the 10 aspects of the Nicholls Creed and excel academically and in co-curricular activities.  Candidates are nominated by faculty, staff, students, and organizations.  When nominating an individual please be specific as to why the individual qualifies for the award. Information from your nomination may be read at the presentation of the award.  Selection for this award will rely heavily upon the information provided in the nomination.  Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.  Nominate a student for the Nicholls Nine!
Junior Recognition Pinnacle Award
This award is given to a junior at Nicholls State University in recognition of outstanding leadership on campus and in the community.  The recipient of this award must have served in at least one substantial leadership position/role on campus (student organization officer, elected or appointed position in SGA, SPA, SEALS, NAACP, etc.). Leadership contributions that result in the enhancement of campus life and the student experience, and involvement in community service is the focus of this award.  Candidates are nominated by faculty, staff, student organizations, etc. When nominating an individual please be specific as to why the individual qualifies for the award. Selection for this award will rely heavily upon the information provided in the nomination. Information from your nomination may be read at the presentation of the award.  Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.75.  Nominate a student for the Pinnacle Award!
Senior Recognition Legacy Award
This award is given to 1 senior who stands out among the senior class. This individual excels in academics, leadership, and service to the campus and local community.  They will be remembered as an individual who truly left their mark on Nicholls State University. Candidates are nominated by faculty, staff, student organizations, etc. When nominating an individual please be specific as to why the individual qualifies for the award. Selection for this award will rely heavily upon the information provided in the nomination. Information from your nomination may be read at the presentation of the award. Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.75.  Nominate a student for the Legacy Award!
General Student Recognition L.O.V.E. Awards (Leaders Of Values and Ethics)
This award goes to an individual or a group of individuals who have raised the awareness of the campus community on a particular issue, championed a particular cause, or demonstrated superior continuous leadership on critical social issues-even when it is unpopular to do so.  Nominations may come from faculty, staff, students, and student organizations.  When nominating an individual, please be specific as to why the individual qualifies for the award. Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.0.  Nominate a student for a L.O.V.E. award!
General Student Recognition Humanitarian Award
This award is given to a student who has made substantial contributions to the local community through sustained community service involvement, taken a leadership role in encouraging volunteerism and community service, and raised the awareness of the campus community on a particular community service need.  Candidates are nominated by faculty, staff, students, and organizations.  When nominating an individual please be specific as to why the individual qualifies for the award. There is no GPA requirement for this award.  Nominate a student for the Humanitarian Award!
