Instructor of Management
As a lifelong native of Houma, Louisiana, Melanie felt right at home at Nicholls State University, where she pursued her undergraduate degree in Management with a concentration in Human Resources. Upon graduation, many business opportunities awaited the Magna Cum Laude graduate. After working as the Human Resource Administrator for a Houma-based oilfield company, she decided to return to Nicholls State to pursue her MBA. During this time she worked in the Graduate Program as a Graduate Assistant to the President of Nicholls State University.
With her MBA in hand, Melanie moved on to running the Human Resource Department for Power Torque Services, LLC. Despite the fact that she valued her job, Melanie knew that her true calling was in teaching.
“Being a faculty member in the College of Business at Nicholls just seems so natural,” says Boudreaux. “Teaching is my passion. I realized this when I would conduct new hire orientations and train employees and managers. I want to be at Nicholls to share my knowledge and help students achieve their dreams.”
She is the faculty advisor for the Society for Human Resource Management at Nicholls (SHRM@NSU). This organization is extremely active in the local community, which helps our students build relationships and connect with local professionals in the Human Resource field. Melanie also stays connected to the HR world by being an active member of Bayou SHRM and National SHRM.
In her spare time Boudreaux enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She enjoys numerous activities including: playing volleyball, boat riding, fishing, and shopping. Melanie is also the loving owner to Brownie, a 13 year old, you guessed it, brown dog.
