Dr. Blaise Bergiel
Professor of Marketing
It’s not unusual for faculty members to use their free time between classes to have a cup of coffee and a good discussion with their colleagues. Dr. Blaise Bergiel spends his free time interacting with students instead.
I enjoy meeting students and finding out as much as I can about them and their families in my spare time, Bergiel says. I really enjoy the diversity of the student body and take pride in watching students grow as they complete their academic careers.
Bergiel, professor of marketing, began teaching marketing in 1975 at Clarion State University in Clarion, Penn. Before coming to Nicholls State University in 1984, he taught at Mississippi State University and Southern Illinois University.
Since 1986, Bergiel has been a marketing consultant with B & J Business Consultants in Thibodaux. Prior to entering academia, he was a captain in the U.S. Army, serving as a flight instructor and company commander.
