Dr. Greg Turner
Assistant Professor of Marketing
Dr. Greg Turner was born and raised in South Carolina. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston, he was unable to find meaningful employment and decided to pursue higher education. “I received my MBA from Winthrop University and once again, began the job hunt; however, Hurricane Hugo hit Charleston and devastated the business market. At this point, the job market seemed great for construction but not freshly minted MBAs.” After a few odd jobs and one year of teaching, Dr. Turner, armed with a MBA, decided to take the plunge and pursue a doctoral degree. Shortly after being accepted to Mississippi State University, Dr. Turner packed all of his belongings and drove to Starkville, MS. He taught for a year in Alabama while working on his dissertation. Dr. Turner returned home after accepting a position Coastal Carolina University, where he taught for three years. He then accepted a position his alma mater, the College of Charleston, where he worked for almost 10 years until joining the NSU family. Dr. Turner states, “I have really enjoyed my time here in Louisiana so far and the students at Nicholls are very bright and hardworking.”
