Dr. Carol Britt

Head of the Department of Music and Professor of Music

When she’s not serving as the Head of the Department of Music or teaching theory courses at Nicholls, Dr. Carol Britt is putting her musical talents to use in the community. She is organist and choir director at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Metairie and maintains a private organ studio.

Britt perfected her organ performance while earning her master’s and doctorate from the University of Evansville in Indiana and the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa, respectively.

Now, she is active as a recitalist, lecturer and accompanist in the Southeast and Midwest. She is also a member of the American Guild of Organists, the Organ Historical Society, the Association of Anglican Musicians, the National Federation of Music Clubs, Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Kappa Lambda.
