Adjunct Instructor of Bassoon
Scott Miller holds degrees from Louisiana State University (DMA), the University of Oregon (MM) and Florida State University (BM). He has studied bassoon with Gabriel Beavers, Steve Vacchi, Jeff Keesecker, Randy Doo, and Kim Woolly.
Scott is an active performer in the gulf region; he is the Principal Bassoonist for the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, Opera Louisiane, the Louisiana Sinfonietta and the Monroe Symphony Orchestra, and the Second Bassoonist for the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra.
Scott has appeared as a soloist with the Magnolia Chamber Orchestra and with the Louisiana Sinfonietta, and has performed as a guest on recitals with the music faculty of Louisiana State University and the University of South Alabama. In 2011, he created HurryCane Reeds, which supplies reeds for bassoon, oboe, and English horn to students, stores, and professionals across the US and in parts of Canada.
