Rohit Crasta, 17, of Long Island, N.Y., pitches his self-designed video game “Mushin no Shin” at GameCamp, held this week at Nicholls State University for young people who want to learn to develop video games. The State of Louisiana, on behalf of Nicholls State University, reached an agreement on Wednesday with Acadia Agricultural Holdings LLC to purchase approximately 57 acres of land to the east of campus. As part of this transaction, Acadia donated an additional 17 acres for a total transaction of approximately 74 acres. (more…)
Nicholls State University students recently announced the year’s new student leaders, presented awards and recognized the 2007 Mr. and Ms. Nicholls, Clint Costanza of Holden and Leah Talbot of Thibodaux, at the recent awards and inaugural banquet of the Student Government Association, the Student Programming Association and the Student Educators and Leaders. Nicholls State University officials are considering alternative sites for the planned student recreation center and a future Chef John Folse Culinary Institute building in the event the university is unable to secure the desired property east of Bowie Road and the campus. (more…)
