THIBODAUX – The Nicholls Office of Career Services will host its annual Career Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the Donald G. Bollinger Memorial Student Union Cotillion Ballroom.
Students and alumni will have the opportunity to network with local, state and national employers in attendance. Thus far, 62 employers have registered to participate, which is an increase in the number typically registered at this time, Kristie Tauzin Goulas, director of the Office of Career Services, said. The event usually hosts between 80 and 100 employers. The list of all participating employers is available online at www.nicholls.edu/career.
Students of all classifications are invited to attend. Graduating seniors and alumni will be designated by a red name tag.
“We encourage all students to come talk with companies about possible careers or what degrees they need to pursue to get a job with that company,†Goulas said. “Of course, we encourage graduating seniors to look for potential employers.â€
Goulas suggests that students dress professionally and bring a resume, even though many companies will have applicants apply for jobs online rather than accept resumes onsite.
Companies interested in participating should contact the Office of Career Services at (985) 448-4508 before Friday, Sept. 28, to avoid having to pay late fees. The registration fee is $100. es of the new admissions standards.â€
