THIBODAUX – The Louisiana House of Representatives has adopted a resolution honoring Dr. J. Paul Leslie, professor of history at Nicholls State University, for his recent receipt of the Individual Achievement in the Humanities Award from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities.

THIBODAUX – Chef Donald Kasten, lecturer at The John Folse Culinary Institute, was recognized for March by the Nicholls State University Academic Council for his outstanding service and significant contributions to the teaching of culinary arts.

THIBODAUX – Thirteen students were named to Nicholls State University’s Hall of Fame at the Nicholls Alumni Federation’s annual Awards for Excellence reception. This is the highest honor bestowed upon a student of Nicholls.

The New Orleans Leadership Council of the Louisiana Center for Women & Government at Nicholls State University raised $47,000 at “Guess Who’s Coming To…Dinner?” – a celebrity waiter fundraising event – at the Audubon Tea Room in New Orleans.

The Nicholls State University Alumni Federation recently hosted its annual Awards for Excellence reception to honor those who have most helped to advance the university and the federation.

THIBODAUX – Catherine Loupe, a graduate of Berwick High School and freshman broadcast journalism major at Nicholls State University, has been awarded the Community Bank Excellence in Mass Communication Endowed Scholarship for the Spring 2008 semester.
