THIBODAUX – The football filming tower at Nicholls State University’s Guidry Stadium recently received a cosmetic boost via services provided by J. Ray McDermott Inc.
“Nicholls appreciates the work of our good friends at McDermott, who volunteered to clean and repaint the tower,” said Dr. David Boudreaux, vice president of institutional advancement. “It now looks just as good as it did on the day McDermott donated it to the university 18 years ago, and the fresh paint job really complements the rest of the improvements at Manning Field.”
Rob Bernardi, director of athletics, said McDermott’s generosity has proven quite valuable to Nicholls.
“While an international company, McDermott is still dedicated to community support at the local level,” Bernardi said. “We are honored by our association.”
Steve Becnel, general manager of McDermott’s Morgan City fabrication facility, said credit also belongs to International Paint Inc., which provided paint for the tower, and NES Rentals, which donated a compressor.
