THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University is seeking sponsors and golfers for the 18th annual Bonnie J. Bourg Lecture Series Golf Tournament, scheduled for Sunday, March 15, at the Bayou Country Club in Thibodaux.
THIBODAUX – The entire region is invited to the first ever Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival – a musical celebration of south Louisiana culture – slated for Friday and Saturday, March 20-21, at Nicholls State University.
THIBODAUX – Dr. Al Delahaye, professor emeritus of journalism at Nicholls State University, will be recognized for 52 years of service to Nicholls at a tribute dinner Saturday, March 14, in the Cotillion Ballroom of the Bollinger Memorial Student Union.
THIBODAUX – The Fletcher Lecture Series at Nicholls State University will celebrate its 25th anniversary Thursday, March 12, with guest lecturer Sam Pickering – author, essayist and professor of English at the University of Connecticut.
THIBODAUX – Politically divided – yet matrimonially united – James Carville and Mary Matalin, two of the nation’s most respected political consultants, will deliver the keynote address Saturday, March 28, at the Louisiana Center for Women and Government’s Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony.
THIBODAUX – Octave Hymel, program coordinator for the Louisiana Center for Dyslexia and Related Disorders at Nicholls State University, is the Nicholls Academic Council’s February honoree for outstanding and significant contributions to teaching.
Casey Haynes, staff accompanist for the Division of Music at Nicholls State University, performs on the university’s new Steinway piano – a nine-foot concert grand priced at $110,000.
