Student athletes gain new golf facility at Nicholls
THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University men’s golf team finally has a place to call home. The on-campus practice facility provides student athletes with the convenience of walking to practice.

Nicholls Family Day fest set for Halloween
THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University invites students, their families and the entire community to the annual Family Day celebration, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, next to John L. Guidry Stadium. The Family Day tradition began at Nicholls in 1983.
From India to Canada, Nicholls chef shares expertise
THIBODAUX – The John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University is making a global impact. Chef George Kaslow, assistant professor of culinary arts, will travel to Toronto, Canada, later this week to share Southern expertise with culinary professionals north of the border.
Louisiana Book Festival to feature Nicholls faculty
THIBODAUX – Two faculty members from Nicholls State University are scheduled to appear at the Louisiana Book Festival, slated for Saturday, Oct.17, at the Louisiana State Capitol and State Library of Louisiana in Baton Rouge. Admission is free.
New Orleans Film Festival to profile sculpture garden
THIBODAUX – The Sculpture Garden and Folk Art Studio in Chauvin, owned and maintained by Nicholls State University, will be featured in a new independent film by Zack Godshall. The film will be showcased at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at the Prytania Theater as part of the New Orleans Film Festival.
Adults invited to enroll in non-credit Nicholls courses

Teachers from Nicholls dominate area workforce
THIBODAUX – A substantial portion of K-12 teachers working in the Bayou Region received their degrees from Nicholls State University, according to estimates compiled by the Nicholls College of Education.

ConocoPhillips donated $5,100 to Nicholls State University on Thursday, Oct. 1, to help cover costs for last month’s inaugural, three-day National Women’s Leadership Summit in New Orleans.
