The Louisiana Center for Women and Government, under the direction of Dr. Laura Badeaux, recently hosted the “Celebrities, Comedy and Cocktails” fundraiser at Nicholls State University, the center’s parent institution.

THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University officials announced today that head football coach Jay Thomas will be released from his duties effective Nov. 27. Thomas finished the 2009 season on a winning note as the Colonels defeated in-state rival Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday night in Hammond.

THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University will be closed from Monday, Nov. 23, to Friday, Nov. 27. Residence halls will reopen at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, and classes will resume on Monday, Nov. 30.

THIBODAUX – An overwhelming number of Nicholls State University graduates remain in Louisiana, according to data recently compiled by the Nicholls administration. Of the 9,260 students who graduated between 1998 and 2008, a total of 8,294 have made their home in the Pelican State – 89.6 percent.

THIBODAUX – Working media are invited to the 13th annual Bite of the Arts gala, Nicholls State University’s premier fundraising event for the John Folse Culinary Institute. THIBODAUX – The Sinfonia Singers, Nicholls State University’s male chorus, will perform an eclectic concert of choral and solo music at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Talbot Theater.
