Shell and Nicholls in joint oil-spill recovery project
THIBODAUX – Approximately 40 employees of Shell, all from southeast Louisiana, lent a hand to Nicholls State University employees and students on Tuesday, July 20, with the university’s oil-spill recovery efforts.
Nicholls issues Phase I alert; university remains open
THIBODAUX – Due to the approach of Tropical Storm Bonnie, the Nicholls State University Emergency Preparedness Committee has initiated a Phase I Alert in accordance with the 2010 Hurricane Emergency Plan posted at http://emergency.nicholls.edu.
Welsh appointed acting education dean at Nicholls
THIBODAUX – Dr. Steven Welsh, former head of the Department of Psychology and Counselor Education and professor of psychology at Nicholls State University, became acting dean of the Nicholls College of Education effective July 1.
Barrilleaux appointed interim vice president for academic affairs at Nicholls
THIBODAUX – Dr. Allayne “Laynie” Barrilleaux was named interim vice president for academic affairs at Nicholls State University effective July 1, succeeding the retired Dr. Carroll Falcon.
Nicholls hosts cheerleading camp
Nicholls State University freshman Cydney Walters, a graduate of St. Amant High School, cheered with campers and fellow Nicholls cheerleaders during the “show off” portion of Cheerleader Camp in Stopher Gymnasium on Wednesday, June 30.
Nicholls to host football passing demo with Mannings
THIBODAUX – Members of the legendary Manning family will “Air it Out” Saturday, July 10, at Nicholls State University in a skills demonstration featuring Super Bowl MVPs Peyton and Eli Manning – as well as other NFL and college quarterbacks.
