Nicholls center invites public to ‘Dance with the Stars’ in New Orleans
THIBODAUX – The Louisiana Center for Women and Government, headquartered at Nicholls State University, invites the public to “Dance with the Stars of the South” on Friday, Nov. 12, at Astor Crowne Plaza, 739 Canal Street in New Orleans. Headlining the celebrity guest list is Sammy Kershaw, country music star and politician.
Oil spill responders from Nicholls receive recognition
Lafourche Parish President Charlotte Randolph and Terrebonne Parish President Michel Claudet joined Nicholls State University President Dr. Stephen T. Hulbert and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Laynie Barrilleaux on Saturday, Oct. 23, to pay tribute to members of the Nicholls community who provided services in the aftermath of the gulf oil spill.
Nicholls culinary gala to feature Spanish cuisine
THIBODAUX – The 14th annual Bite of the Arts, Nicholls State University’s premier fundraising event for the John Folse Culinary Institute, is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, in the Bollinger Memorial Student Union. This year’s celebration is themed “Viva España: Celebrating the Spanish Influence in Cajun and Creole Cuisine.”
Nicholls police receive cutting-edge training
THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University Police officers completed a series of advanced training programs over the past year, including crime-scene collection of DNA evidence, identification of social drugs common to a college campus, current domestic violence laws and maintenance of the safety and security of spectators at university sporting events.
Funding approved for new John Folse Culinary Institute facility at Nicholls
THIBODAUX – Today the State Bond Commission approved funding for the planning and design of the new John Folse Culinary Institute facility on the corner of Louisiana Highway 1 and Bowie Road, moving Nicholls State University one step closer to breaking ground.
