THIBODAUX – Construction of the Harold J. Callais Memorial Recreation Center at Nicholls State University will begin before the end of the year, Nicholls State University officials announced today.
The 14th annual Bite of the Arts, Nicholls State University’s premier fundraising event for the John Folse Culinary Institute, generated approximately $80,000 for institutional advancement.
THIBODAUX – Lionel O. Naquin Jr., vice president for finance and administration at Nicholls State University, will retire effective Jan. 18, 2011.

THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University Chamber Singers will perform “A Baby Boomer Christmas,” directed by Dr. Kenneth S. Klaus, professor of music and director of choral activities, on Thursday, Dec. 2.
THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University will be represented by 54 students in the 2011 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”

Paying tribute to all veterans past and present, Nicholls State University hosted a Veterans Day ceremony in the campus quadrangle on Thursday, Nov. 11. Approximately 500 people attended the ceremony, including nearly 100 veterans representing the World War II era through the present.
Approximately 200 Nicholls State University students, faculty, staff members and Bayou Region community members attended the Rally for Higher Education at the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, Nov. 10.
THIBODAUX – The Sinfonia Singers, Nicholls State University’s male chorus, will perform an eclectic concert of choral music at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, in Talbot Theater.
