THIBODAUX – Internationally acclaimed pianist and composer Dmitri Levkovich is scheduled to perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 28, in Nicholls State University’s Talbot Theater. Admission is $10 per person at the door – free for faculty, staff and students.
Levkovich, who started taking part in international competitions in 2005, gained notoriety after winning top prizes in four competitions in a six-week period, collecting more than $100,000 in prizes. He also won second place in the New Orleans International Piano Competition.
Levkovich has since performed as a soloist with several orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, Gulbenkian Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.
A worldwide artist, he has appeared on stage in Austria, France, Canada, Chile, Japan, Israel, Mexico, Poland, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and the United States – including Carnegie Hall. His compositions have been performed by orchestras in the United States and Europe.
