Jenna Bush Hager to speak, sign books at Nicholls

THIBODAUX – The Louisiana Girls Leadership Academy, featuring keynote speaker Jenna Bush Hager, among others, is scheduled for Sunday, June 13, through Wednesday, June 16, at Nicholls State University.

Sponsored by the Louisiana Center for Women and Government, the academy is designed to develop the leadership skills of selected girls entering the 8th through the 11th grades by focusing on communication, situational leadership, public service, responsible citizenship and current issues.

Bush Hager – author, contributing correspondent to NBC’s Today Show and reading coordinator in Baltimore, Md. – is slated to sign copies of her book “Ana’s Story: A Journey of Hope” beginning at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, in the Cotillion Ballroom of the Bollinger Memorial Student Union.

Following the book signing, academy participants will present their group service projects – and at 4:45 p.m., Bush Hager will deliver the academy’s keynote address.

The public is invited to attend the book signing, the group presentations and keynote address. Hors d’oeuvres will be served. Tickets are $25 each and must be purchased in advance. Call (985) 448-4444 for reservations.
