THIBODAUX – African-American History Month at Nicholls State University will conclude Friday, Feb. 25, with “A Celebration of the Negro Spiritual.”

THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University invites the region to the outdoor Bayou French Education Program, or “Tresors du Bayou,” scheduled for Friday, March 18, near John L. Guidry Stadium. Intended as a prelude to the opening show of the 3rd annual Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival, “Tresors du Bayou” is free and open to the public.

The annual High School Art Day at Nicholls State University attracted about 190 students from 10 area high schools on Friday, Feb. 11.

THIBODAUX – The 13th Annual Jubilee: A Festival of the Arts and Humanities at Nicholls State University, is scheduled for Monday, March 14, through Saturday, April 16.

THIBODAUX – Official enrollment statistics for the spring 2011 semester at Nicholls State University indicate growth in several key areas:

THIBODAUX – The entire region is invited to the third annual Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival – a musical celebration of south Louisiana culture slated for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 18-20, at Nicholls State University.

THIBODAUX – Celebrate Louisiana cuisine Monday, March 14, at the 14th annual Lafcadio Hearn Award Dinner and Distinguished Visiting Chef Series, presented by the John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University.

THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University administrator Mike Naquin was named interim associate vice president for finance and chief financial officer effective Jan. 19, following the retirement of Lionel Naquin Jr., former vice president for finance and administration.

The geomatics program at Nicholls State University has received $100,000 to establish the “Jules Oreste Chustz Memorial Student Endowed Scholarship,” named in memory of the late child of Jimmy Chustz of Chustz Surveying Inc.

THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University community mourns the death of Sgt. Joseph “Joey” Suitt, 30, of University Police, who died Saturday morning following a single-vehicle accident.
