Nicholls to celebrate African-American spirituals
THIBODAUX – African-American History Month at Nicholls State University will conclude Friday, Feb. 25, with “A Celebration of the Negro Spiritual.”
Nicholls ‘Tresors du Bayou’ free and open to public
THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University invites the region to the outdoor Bayou French Education Program, or “Tresors du Bayou,” scheduled for Friday, March 18, near John L. Guidry Stadium. Intended as a prelude to the opening show of the 3rd annual Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival, “Tresors du Bayou” is free and open to the public.

Naquin chosen as chief financial officer at Nicholls
THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University administrator Mike Naquin was named interim associate vice president for finance and chief financial officer effective Jan. 19, following the retirement of Lionel Naquin Jr., former vice president for finance and administration.
Nicholls geomatics program receives $100,000 for endowed scholarship
The geomatics program at Nicholls State University has received $100,000 to establish the “Jules Oreste Chustz Memorial Student Endowed Scholarship,” named in memory of the late child of Jimmy Chustz of Chustz Surveying Inc.
Nicholls mourns loss of university police officer
THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University community mourns the death of Sgt. Joseph “Joey” Suitt, 30, of University Police, who died Saturday morning following a single-vehicle accident.
