THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University Chamber Singers will present an eclectic program of choral music at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in Talbot Hall Theater. The concert is free and open to the public.
Performance selections will include “Isaiah 44:3” from Thoughts and Remembrances by Jackson Berkey, “Set me as a Seal” by René Claussen, “Ubi Caritas” by French organist and composer Maurice Duruflé, “Rainsong” by Houston Bright, “Earth Song” by Frank Ticheli, “The Springtime of the Year” by British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams and “Taxes” by Norman Dello Joio.
The singers will present a set of arrangements of Negro spirituals as well – and close the program with Billy Joel’s “And so it Goes” as arranged by The King’s Singers.
Concert attendees will also be able to view artwork by Jane Falgout, senior art major from Houma.
