THIBODAUX – Deborah Henson-Conant will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, in Talbot Theater at Nicholls State University. Free and open to the public, the Grammy-nominated electric harpist’s concert is part of the 13th annual Jubilee: A Festival of the Arts and Humanities at Nicholls.
Merging music, theater, storytelling and humor in one performance, Henson-Conant performs a blend of blues, flamenco, Celtic, funk, folk and jazz music. Her harp was made exclusively for her one-woman shows.
The concert is sponsored by the National Endowment of the Arts and Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program.
Henson-Conant will also conduct an educational harp workshop, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. in Talbot Theater the day after the concert. The workshop is free and open to the public.
