THIBODAUX – The first “Nicholls CAN!” food drive concluded this week at Nicholls State University with collections of more than 6,500 non-perishable food items and cash donations exceeding $3,300. Proceeds will be divided among area food banks in Thibodaux, Raceland and Galliano.
THIBODAUX – The public is invited to attend Nicholls State University’s annual Art Day celebration, slated for Friday, March 30, in various campus locations.
THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University Camerata, a student string ensemble, will share the stage with a student orchestra from Great Britain’s University of Chichester for two performances in late March and early April.

THIBODAUX – The public is invited to Nicholls State University on Tuesday, April 3, to attend a free lecture by author Wes Moore – Rhodes Scholar, U.S. Army veteran, White House fellow and business leader.
THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University Alumni Federation honored those who have contributed the most to the university and the federation at its annual Awards for Excellence reception, held Sunday, March 18.
THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University Alumni Federation Annual Meeting and Crawfish Boil is slated for Saturday, April 21, in the Cotillion Ballroom of the Bollinger Memorial Student Union.
THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University’s seventh annual Research Week is scheduled for Monday, March 26, through Friday, March 30. All events are open to the public and will highlight a variety of research, featuring a student poster competition, the Brown Bag Faculty Speaker Series and awards ceremonies honoring students and faculty.
Eleni Allemand, a St. James High School senior from Vacherie, takes her turn throwing a “pi” in the face of her calculus teacher, Heather Gamel, instructor of mathematics at Nicholls State University.
THIBODAUX – Jazz pianist and singer Ronnie Kole, who first gained national exposure via several guest appearances on “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson,” will perform a free concert at Nicholls State University on Saturday, March 24.
