THIBODAUX – The public is invited to attend a free conference at Nicholls State University on Wednesday, April 18, titled “The Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill: A 2012 Report Card.” Sponsored by the Environment and Health Council of Louisiana, the conference will feature a keynote address delivered by Dr. Donald Boesch, who was appointed by President Barack Obama to the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling. Nicholls finalizes return of Rienzi Plantation

THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University has officially transferred the Rienzi Plantation House to the Levert Foundation, the charitable arm of its original donor, the J.B. Levert Land Company LLC. The Thibodaux landmark, approved by the Board of Supervisors of the University of Louisiana System in 2010 as a new site for the John Folse Culinary Institute, has proven too small to accommodate the rapidly growing program.
