Nicholls to host Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra

 

THIBODAUX – The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra will return to the Nicholls State University campus for a public performance at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 in the Mary M. Danos Theater. There will be a discussion session with the piano soloist and the conductor in Talbot 215 at 6:30.  There is no admission charge for this session.

German conductor Markus Huber will lead the orchestra in its performance of Nielson Symphony No. 4 “The Inextinguishable” and Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2. The concert will feature acclaimed musician Stephen Hough, who is widely considered “one of the most important and distinctive pianists of his generation.”

Concert tickets are $20 and may be purchased at lpomusic.com/?q=nicholls-brahms. Students can reserve a free ticket by entering a promotional code, which they can obtain from the Department of Music, 240 Talbot Hall.
