More than 160 pieces to be displayed THIBODAUX – The Louisiana Center for Dyslexia and Related Learning Disorders, headquartered at Nicholls State University, invites the public to attend an art auction on Friday, Aug. 10, at the Houma Municipal Auditorium located at 800 Verret St. All proceeds will benefit students served by the center.

THIBODAUX – The Chef John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University is one step closer to breaking ground on a new, larger campus headquarters.

Nicholls State University Police hosted a hostage negotiation training exercise on campus Wednesday, July 11, in conjunction with the Louisiana State Police and the sheriff’s offices of Lafourche and Assumption parishes.

THIBODAUX – When incoming members see the brands “Precor” and “Cybex” stamped on the brand-new, contemporary equipment in the Harold J. Callais Memorial Recreation Center at Nicholls State University, they will know they have entered a top-of-the-line facility.

THIBODAUX – The classic tale of Cinderella will come to life on the Talbot Theater stage at Nicholls State University this weekend, courtesy of almost 50 performing arts campers, ages 5 to 17. “G2K Cinderella” is part of the “Getting to Know” series, which adapts the full-length musicals of Rodgers and Hammerstein for young performers.

The College of Business Administration at Nicholls State University hosted “Free Enterprise Week” (F.E.W.) from June 17 to June 22. An annual event since 1981, F.E.W. is a competition featuring speakers, workshops and simulations designed to teach high school students about the private enterprise system.

THIBODAUX – From Pilates to jogging to kickboxing, the almost-complete Harold J. Callais Memorial Recreation Center at Nicholls State University will offer students, faculty and staff a variety of fitness and wellness programs.

THIBODAUX – For the third consecutive year, all of Nicholls State University’s 14 sports programs have performed above academic standard, according to information released this week by the National Collegiate Athletic Association on the academic progress rates (APR) of all NCAA Division I teams.
