ASN Admission Criteria
Students enrolling in this program must meet the admission requirements of Nicholls State University and submit an additional application to the Associate of Science in Nursing program.
Minimum requirements for admission into Nursing 107-108 are as follows:
1. A score of 100 on the NLN Pre-RN (PAX) Exam.
2. Letter of acceptance to the university.
Re-entry students and students transferring from another university must meet the same application requirements. Transfer students from other nursing programs must have a letter submitted from the director of the nursing program they are transferring from stating they are eligible to re-enter that program.
Meeting the minimum requirements for admission does not guarantee program admission.
Students must be cleared by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing of any:
1. disciplinary action by any licensing board,
2. criminal offense in any state,
3. drug or alcohol addiction and
4. physical or mental impairment.
The curriculum and admission criteria for both BSN and ASN programs are subject to change as deemed necessary by the faculty and administration to ensure an effective program of study. PLEASE schedule an appointment with an adviser of the program PRIOR to registration!
