Assistant Professor of Nursing

Denise Pellegrin likes to shop when she isn’t teaching, but she doesn’t like to wait in line to check out. She likes to have her packages delivered right to her doorstep, and sometimes she even shops in her pajamas. But you won’t spot her at the mall in a bathrobe and slippers; Pellegrin just enjoys the perks of shopping from home with the help of the QVC home shopping channel.

When Pellegrin isn’t tuning in to make her next purchase, she watches movies and walks on her treadmill. She also is a Flex pool nurse in the Medical/Surgical/Pediatrics Unit at Chabert Medical Center in Houma.

Prior to that, Pellegrin was a medical-surgical staff nurse in the OB/GYN, Labor and Delivery Unit at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. Pellegrin also worked in several other units at Chabert and Terrebonne General medical centers before beginning to teach at Nicholls.

Pellegrin says what she enjoys most about her job is watching the faces of nursing students when they get to care for patients at the hospital.
