Tanya Schreiber

Assistant Professor of Nursing

On her time off, you’re likely to find Tanya Schreiber outdoors. She’ll probably be tending to her garden, observing blue jays or camping with her family.

But don’t think Schreiber has to be walking in grass and dirt to be happy. She’s been quite successful on the sterilized hospital floor as well. Schreiber was the first in Louisiana to be granted Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Palliative Care. The Louisiana-Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organization also recognized Schreiber for “commitment and service in end of life care and for leadership and contribution in the state organization.”

Her success has carried on to Betsy Cheramie Ayo Hall, where she is an assistant professor of nursing.

“What I like most about my job is the enthusiasm of students and working with a great group of nursing colleagues,” Schreiber says.

Schrieber’s greatest personal accomplishment is her three successful daughters.
